In our previous post, we reported on the international conference Child Space 2025 — Narratives and New Perspectives on the Bioarchaeology of Children and Their Biosocial Complexity, which our research group helped organize and run.
The conference was accompanied by an exhibition of children’s drawings, which received 240 entries from preschoolers and elementary school students from both sides of the border, exceeding all expectations. The pictures, which covered a wide range of subjects, were used to create an exhibition and a publication (Kulcsár, Mészáros, Varga 2025), which can also be viewed online.
Among the drawings submitted to the children’s drawing exhibition, the special prize of the Lendület/Momentum Bases Research Group was awarded to class 1c of the Implom József Primary School in Gyula. In November 2025 (now in their second class) we welcomed the children to the Institute of Archaeology, ELTE RCH, where they gained insight into the activities of the restoration workshop and the work of the Bronze Age research group. Their sincere interest made this visit a joyful occasion for us as well!
