The main objective of the project is to research the first millennium of the Bronze Age in Hungary (2500–1500 BC). This period is of major importance for the comprehension of subsequent historical processes, as it laid the foundations for the genetic profile of modern-day Europe, which is now composed of three main components: Mesolithic hunter-gatherers, Neolithic farmers of Anatolian origin, and steppe herders, which vary in proportion from region to region.
