Viktória Kiss’s presentation in Prague

Viktória Kiss gave a lecture on December 11, 2025, as part of the Interdisciplinary Lectures series organized by the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague in the framework of the Czech–Hungarian bilateral research project entitled Beyond Borders: Investigating Early Bronze Age contacts between Bohemia and Western Hungary. The presentation, entitled Mobility and Trade: Long-distance Connections in the Western Part of the Carpathian Basin during the 2nd Millennium BC, reported on the results of bioarchaeological and metal analysis case studies from the first thousand years of the Bronze Age in Hungary. Results demonstrate the extensive network of relationships between the people and communities living during that period. Viktória Kiss and Eszter Melis spent two days in Prague, during which they discussed the database work with their Czech colleagues. On the third day, they had the opportunity to make discussions with colleagues from the Department of Archaeology and the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Science, at the Palacký University Olomouc with the aim of preparing future cooperations on the examination of amber and ceramics.
